CURRENT JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Trainee VT Operator
We are seeking a Trainee VT Operator for industry standard shift work in our state of the art Playout Operations Centre. Full training will be given to the successful candidate who will join a team of technical operators ingesting material into video servers and monitoring QC for a number of global channels.
Candidates should already have some previous experience and knowledge of working in a Media related business and the basic principles of broadcasting. Enthusiastic candidates with attention to detail and a reliable and conscientious attitude should apply for further details to our Operations Manager.
Final Cut Pro Editor
We are looking for a talented Final Cut Pro Editor to edit on-air promos, off-air sales tapes, and mostly short duration material. The editor will work individually and with our channel clients. This position is full-time and there may be some shift work involved.
Qualified candidate will have minimum 2 years experience editing on Final Cut Pro. He or she should have strong knowledge of working with VTs, graphics packages that use alpha channels as well as compositing and working with mattes. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to be collaborative within a fast paced, deadline driven environment and be pedantic about the quality of his or her work. He or she must be able to prioritize requests, multi-task, be a self-starter and take direction.
Following skills a plus but not a must:
- After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D animation, DVD authoring
- Knowledge of Avid Media Composer
- Details VT knowledge and technically competent
Salary £22,000 to £25,000 PA
Experienced Avid Media Composer/ FCP Editor
We are looking for a talented Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro Editor to edit on-air promos, off-air sales tapes, and multi-platform projects. This editor will work individually and with our channel clients. This position is full-time and there may be some shift work involved. The candidate should also have details VT knowledge and be technically competent.
Qualified candidate will have minimum 3 to 5 years experience editing. Also he or she should have strong knowledge of working with graphics packages that use alpha channels as well as compositing and working with mattes. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to be collaborative within a fast paced, deadline driven environment. He or she must be able to prioritize requests, multi-task, be a self-starter and take direction. After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D animation, Flash, HTML, DVD authoring a must.
Production Assistant
We are looking for a Production Assistant with 3-5 years experience working in a TV post production environment. The job description includes, booking and managing 2 edit suites, a studio and a dubbing bay, co-ordinating with clients, booking jobs in, QC, answering the telephone, photocopy and doing general administrative work.
Runner
We are looking for a runner who has some previous experience or a degree in Media or related subject and is keen to work in television. You will be expected to be able to touch type at least 55wpm (you will be tested) but the role is varied and it’s a great opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a TV production environment. The job description includes, carrying messages, delivering and collecting equipment, tapes and scripts, running vital errands, co-ordinating with clients, booking jobs in for the editors, answering the telephone, photocopy and doing general administrative work.
